Welcome to Maryland NORML!

The Maryland state chapter of the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws educates the public and grows the movement toward marijuana legalization in Maryland.

We provide education and resources to empower the citizens of Maryland to work with the General Assembly to ensure proper cannabis legalization for adults.

 

Current Cannabis Laws in Maryland as of October 1, 2014:

  • Decriminalization of up to 10 grams of marijuana

            - Civil citation – $100 (1st time), $250 (2nd), $500 and court 
              appearance (3rd)
            - No record, no jail time
            - Flower and concentrates are treated equally

  • Decriminalization of paraphernalia

            - Civil citation - $100

  • Decriminalization of public smoking

            - Civil citation - $500

As of December 1, 2017 medical marijuana dispensaries are now open in the state of Maryland. Patients can register for the Maryland Medical Cannabis Program process online. For more important information please go to -
